Moving Services in Kilimani
What is particular about Kilimani
Over the past decade much of Kilimani has been rebuilt upwards, with bungalow plots replaced by apartment towers of ten storeys and more, and a move into or out of one of them runs on the lift. Most Kilimani blocks expect a move to be booked with management in advance. Some allow only the service lift, and some limit moves to weekdays or set hours. Check with the building before booking movers.
The towers also tend to fill their plots, with basement parking whose ramps a lorry cannot use. Loading then happens from the road outside, and the distance from the truck to the lift, plus the time spent holding the lift, matters to the quote as much as the furniture does. Say in the post whether a truck can get into the compound at all.

Writing the request
What to include so the offers come back usable
- Where you are moving from and to
- The floor at each end, and whether there is a working lift
- A list of the big items and a rough box count
- The date, and whether it can shift by a day
- Whether you need packing, or only moving
What moves the price
Why two quotes for the same job differ
- Volume, and the vehicle size it needs
- Distance, particularly between towns
- Stairs and the floor at both ends
- Packing, and whether materials are included
- How many people are needed to load and carry
Help24 does not publish price ranges for moving services. Quotes come from the movers themselves, and the number you agree is the number the payment is held against.
Before work starts
What to check with a mover
- Agree what happens if something is damaged, before the van is loaded
- Photograph anything valuable or already marked before it goes on
- Confirm the vehicle can actually reach both addresses and park
- Confirm whether the price is a fixed job price or by the hour
