Find casual labour near you
Loading, digging, clearing, carrying and the jobs that need hands rather than a trade.
Also called casual labour, manual work, mkono or helper.
This is the category for work that needs hands and effort rather than a particular trade: clearing a compound, offloading a delivery, digging a trench, carrying furniture up four floors, breaking out old concrete.
Say how many people you need and for how long. "Two people for half a day" is a post somebody can price immediately; "some help moving stuff" is not.
Be specific about the physical work. Manual labour quotes are honest quotes when everybody knows what is actually involved, and a nasty surprise on arrival helps nobody.

Writing the request
What to include so the offers come back usable
- How many people, and for how long
- What the work physically involves
- Whether tools are provided or they should bring their own
- Where it is, and how they get there
- Start time, and whether it is one day or several
What moves the price
Why two quotes for the same job differ
- Number of people and days
- How heavy and how demanding the work is
- Whether tools are provided
- How far they travel
- Whether the work is urgent or can wait for a convenient day
Help24 does not publish price ranges for general labour. Quotes come from the labourers themselves, and the number you agree is the number the payment is held against.
Before work starts
What to check with anyone you hire
- Agree the hours a day covers before the day starts
- Provide water and somewhere to rest — and expect to
- Make sure anybody digging or breaking concrete has proper footwear and gloves
- Agree what happens if the work runs past the day
How Help24 works
Posting a general labour job
Describe the job
Say what needs doing and where you are. Posting is free, and you are not committing to anything by posting.
Nearby labourers send offers
Providers near you quote their own price. Nobody is assigned to you — you see the offers and you choose.
Agree the price first
Nothing starts until you have accepted an offer. The number you agree is the number that gets held.
Pay by M-Pesa, released when it's done
Help24 holds the payment while the work happens. The provider can see it is there; neither side can move it until you confirm the job is finished.
